Ranch

The Circle 3 Ranch is a working cattle ranch located not far from Dillon, Montana. We run a herd of Red Angus cows, which summer on our ranch in the neighboring Big Hole Valley. In the winter, we do our calving here at the ranch in the Beaverhead Valley.

Here at the ranch, we run an extensive irrigated farming operation, where we grow alfalfa hay and grain to support the livestock operation. There are also irrigated pastures along the Beaverhead River which are used for winter grazing of livestock, as well as for wildlife habitat.
The Dillon ranch also has numerous sections of land set aside for wildlife habitat to support the pheasants, abundant whitetail deer and wetlands for waterfowl. Circle 3 Ranch is a leader among western cattle ranches for achieving the perfect balance of nature, agriculture and wildlife enhancement for hunting and fishing in Montana while managing a vibrant cattle ranching operation.

We are glad that anglers get more than 'just' a great fishing experience here at the Circle 3. While we don't offer a 'working ranch' activity program, we're always more than happy to share with folks information about the ranch's history, our cattle operation, and our thoughts on this uniquely-Western way of life.
